Than you think it would be. Some things to consider:
1)If you bring $4500 and stay for 90 days in Europe (that's about three months), that's only $50 a day. If you pay $30 a day for a hostel, that's only $20 left over for food, buses, trains and drinks. Not very much.
2)If you read about really cheap hostels in guide books like "Lonely Planet" you will get your hopes raised for no reason. The dirt-cheap hostel prices are NEVER the prices that you're quoted. Maybe if you're a local and speak the language fluently you'll get a rate close to the rates in the book, but if you're a foreigner and/or traveling during peak season, expect to pay almost twice as much.
